MMA Honors Veterans through Baltimore Parade

Baltimore, MD (Massanutten Military Academy) - Every November 11th, the United States pauses to pay tribute to our veterans who fought for our freedoms. In 2024, Massanutten Military Academy cadet had the immense honor of saying thank you by marching in the Baltimore City Veterans Day Parade.

High school members of the Corps of Cadets joined representatives from more than 60 units for the one-mile march on Saturday, November 9th. They began at the Washington Monument on North Charles Street and ended at War Memorial Plaza. Our cadets marched alongside veterans, marching bands, Honor Guards and more. They also had the chance to meet Mayor Brandon Scott.

After the parade, cadets were immersed in history during a visit to Fort McHenry. They learned about the defense of the fort during the Battle of Baltimore in 1814 that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the words that became our country's national anthem. They also took in the sights and walked along the water at the Inner Harbor.

Massanutten Military Academy is proud to have been invited to join such an important tribute to our veterans, and thanks every person who served to protect our freedoms.
