Woodstock, VA (Massanutten Military Academy) - The journey from high school to higher education is an exciting one, but it can also become overwhelming. That's why
Massanutten Military Academy equips our cadets with essential skills and information to help them make the right decision about the next steps.
On Monday, January 13th, we re-launched that effort on the first day of the second semester with a visit from
Valley Forge Military College. Admissions Director Mayra Barcus met with our cadets to discuss the highlights of their program and how it has opened doors for cadets.
This visit is just the latest planned by Massanutten's College and Career Counselor Mrs. Dawn Hawbecker. She also arranges our annual College Day, where
representatives from 10 colleges and universities spent the morning empowering our cadets with information about their respective programs. Throughout the year, she schedules visits with admissions recruiters from other schools to ensure our cadets explore all of their options. Mrs. Hawbecker also teaches our Personal and Professional Skills course. It's offered to seniors in the fall and juniors in the spring. Seniors research college and careers, fill out applications, research and apply for scholarships, create resumes and more. Juniors focus on goal setting, skills and abilities testing, interest surveys and research to get them thinking about what they want to do after MMA.
Massanutten is proud to have
Guaranteed Admissions Agreements with 10 colleges and universities, including Virginia Military Institute and Mary Baldwin University. Our Class of 2024 earned $3.1 million in college scholarship offers, with individual cadets earning an average of $159,000. MMA sets your teen on track to success by creating individualized roadmaps of classes, extracurriculars and volunteering opportunities for the best success in college acceptance.
