Woodstock, VA (Massanutten Military Academy) - Massanutten Military Academy is proud to share a new celebration with our community in 2025: 10 years of STEM education! Our engineering class helped launch the exciting landmark by launching pumpkins before winter furlough.
Led by Mrs. Sarah Treese, our cadets built a cross between a trebuchet and a catapult. They used weights to offset the launching arm, and once the string was pulled, it sent pumpkins flying more than 20 feet across campus. Click to watch our cadets explain in detail how it works.
Massanutten is proud to have offered a variety of STEM courses since 2015, preparing students for a rapidly evolving future. Cadets can choose from courses including Sustainable Energy, Virtual Reality, Bio Medical, Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science and Coding, Cyber Security and Drone Operations. Through these different topics, Massanutten students develop critical thinking and creative skills that open avenues to numerous future career paths.
