Learn to Change Lives with Biomedical STEM Classes

Woodstock, VA (Massanutten Military Academy) - Open doors for your teen to join the next generation of scientific leaders with Massanutten's Biomedical classes! Cadets in our Biomed courses get hands-on experience as they learn from a retired orthopedic surgeon with nearly 40 years of experience. Dr. Brian Altman guides his classes through developing new and innovative solutions to the world’s biggest health issues. Your teen can translate these skills into a medical career or any problem-solving path.

Cadets recently wrapped up a lab that involved fixing fractured femurs. Each group received their own pieces of bone fragments. They had to figure out how they fit together and document the break. Then, cadets thought outside the box to create their own plans to help their patient fully recover. 

Biomed is one of the specific STEM tracks our cadets can choose to help them get a head start. Other options include:

  • Virtual Reality
  • Engineering I, II, III
  • Robotics
  • Computer Science/Coding I, II, III
  • Cyber Security I, II
  • Drone class
