Woodstock, VA (Massanutten Military Academy) - Massanutten Military Academy is proud to
add SSG Edward Santos to our team as a new Army Instructor and
Raiders coach!Originally from Dorado, Puerto Rico, he served 14 years as an active-duty solider in the U.S. Army. He is a devoted husband and father to a daughter and two sons. Edward chose to become a JROTC instructor because of his experience as a Drill Sergeant working with young soldiers in basic training. His passion for mentorship and leadership development made this role a natural transition, allowing him to continue shaping the next generation.
His primary goals for MMA and its cadets are to build a strong foundation within the organization and
positively impact students’ lives. He aims to help cadets become better citizens, achieve their personal goals, and develop the ability to make wise decisions that will benefit their futures. Edward strongly abides by biblical values, with integrity and honor being the two principles he encourages most. His biggest inspirations come from his faith and the unwavering support of his wife, who has always motivated him to achieve greater things.
His favorite part of being a JROTC instructor is mentoring young students daily, guiding them to make the right decisions, and helping them grow into responsible and capable individuals. Edward is excited to continue making an impact at MMA by
promoting the JROTC program and highlighting the value it brings to young cadets.
One of his defining traits is his self-confidence and ability to make things happen. Currently, he is working toward earning two master’s degrees—one in Business Administration and another in Science in Leadership—to further enhance his knowledge and leadership skills.
His favorite meal at the
Cook & Kitchin Dining Hall is the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.
